My
wife is currently cycle-touring Mexico. I would have gone but
I had to Hold Down the Fort, a very important job. Anyway, yesterday
she and a friend did what several locals had claimed would surely
end in death -- they rode their bikes in Mexico City traffic.
They pronounced it doable but not comfortable. Mexico D.F., as
folks who have been paying attention to this site already know,
also features a bike path of note. When traffic is heavy drivers
enjoy using the space. She sent along some pictures of that and
some other attractions, including policia en una Segway. There
is a helmet law in Mexico City too. People don't need to hear
how I feel about that again. The bicyclists generally ignore
it I'm told.
